Drop in for a coldie with the Kajabbi Yabbies

From the
'North West Star'   Mt Isa Local paper

The dividends are guaranteed to please in a unique investment opportunity in Kajabbi.
The locals are selling shares in their town identity - Jenny the donkey,  and anyone is welcome to invest.
Kalkadoon hotel owner and share administrator Trevor Long reckons the investors will reap the benefits - plenty of laughs and the knowledge that the money is going to the Kajabbi Community school.
Mr long said Jenny had been a familiar sight around town since she was born in 1975 and owner Gladys Forster had recently

Jenny the Town Donkey

Entrusted her to the  community
"when Gladys approached a few people about buying the donkey  Jenny, we thought why don't we get together and start  hitting the community for a dollar each to raise money for the school" he said  "that way everyone owns her and they can only complain to them selves when she wanders into their yards".
"we got $50 together pretty quickly and we came up  with the idea of making share certificates and selling them to the general public".
"We expect to get a lot more years out of her yet, so we are going to make it an ongoing thing".
Share sales  have reached around 150 in the past two weeks with funds going to  school materials, air conditioning and toilet facilities.
Investors had better be quick. The share price could rise after the influx of visitors for the Kajabbi Yabbie Races on Saturday
